Reading Groups on the Work of Dr. Christina Sharpe
In Spring Semester 2024, William R. Kenan Jr. Professor in the Humanities Laura Mullen will host scholar, critic, and writer Dr. Christina Sharpe. This semester, the Humanities Institute will sponsor two reading groups, one on Dr. Sharpe’s critical work In The Wake and one on her recently published memoir, Ordinary Notes.
Faculty and students who wish to join a reading group can register at the link below and receive a free copy of their respective book.

A group discussing In the Wake will be facilitated by Dr. Corey D.B. Walker and Dr. Julia Jordan-Zachery and will meet at 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 26th and Tuesday, October 31st in A207 Tribble Hall.

A group discussing Ordinary Notes will be facilitated by William R. Kenan Jr. Professor in the Humanities Laura Mullen and Professor Phoebe Zerwick and will meet at 4:00pm on Wednesday, September 27th and Wednesday, October 18th in A204 Tribble Hall.
Copies of the book will be provided in advance. Books can be picked up from 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, at 305E Reynolda Hall (305E is located in the 305-307 suite on the third floor of Reynolda Hall).
