Freedom Dreams: Mass Meeting Featuring the Albany Civil Rights Institute Freedom Singers
Thursday, March 27th
6:00pm | Hanes Gallery, Scales Fine Arts Center

On Thursday, March 27th, the Slavery, Race, and Memory Project presents the Freedom Dreams Mass Meeting at 6:00pm at the Hanes Art Gallery located in the Scales Fine Arts Center. This special gathering aims to unite the community around its aspirations for freedom and democracy.

This event will feature the Albany Civil Rights Institute Freedom Singers who will take us sonically through the Civil Rights Movement.

Together, they will share powerful messages through music about the ongoing journey toward freedom, equality, and justice, urging the community to rally behind its collective dreams.

In a tradition of unity and hope, this mass meeting seeks to honor the practice of coming together in the name of love and freedom. It’s a call for the community to reflect on its shared goals and to envision a brighter future through solidarity and collective action.

This event is also sponsored by Wake the Arts, the Office of Diversity & Inclusion, the Program for Leadership and Character, the WFU School of Divinity, the A.C. Reid Philosophy Fund, and the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Wake Forest University Humanities Institute together: Democracy demands wisdom.
