Welcome New Faculty!

The Humanities Institute welcomes new faculty members joining Wake Forest University for the 2013-2014 Academic Year! Please join us at a Reception for New Faculty from 3:30-5pm on Thursday, September 26 in 301 Reynolda Hall.

The WFU Humanities Institute is a young organization, established in October of 2010, which began as a grass-roots initiative among a group of Wake Forest faculty. The Institute received two years of planning grants from the Office of the Provost before its official founding. In December of 2010, the Institute was awarded a prestigious, five-year $500,000 challenge grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).

The Institute establishes programs and provides funding for faculty in the humanities and other fields of study engaging in humanistic inquiry and scholarship. We also foster collaboration and promote cross- and interdisciplinary research and other creative activity, support joint faculty-student research and activities, and build partnerships with the public community outside Wake Forest.

If you are interested in learning more about the Humanities Institute, please take a moment to read through our website. Please contact Mary Foskett, HI Director and Professor of Religion, to learn how you can become involved in our programming (foskettm@nullwfu.edu).

Below, you will find links to our Call for Proposals and application forms for all of our funding opportunities. We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best as you begin your career at Wake Forest University!
